Homenaje de la ciudad de Astorga a la imprenta musical de Ángel Julián Rubio

El Ayuntamiento de Astorga realizará un reconocimiento público al taller de Ángel Julián Rubio el 15 de agosto. El acto reflejará la importancia que para la economía de la ciudad tuvieron los talleres de impresión en la primera mitad del siglo XX. El de Ángel Julián era una de las tres imprentas existentes en España especializadas en textos musicales.

El homenaje está concebido como agradecimiento a la familia Julián Mena  por la donación a la ciudad de la caja de tipos musicales de la Imprenta Musical de ‘Talleres Gráficos Astorga’. La información aparece publicada en la revista La Tarima, de la Societat Musial Lira Castellonera, pues es en Villanueva de Castellón (Valencia) donde residen los descendientes de Ángel Julián Rubio que donaron ‘las notas’ que sirvieron para imprimir las reproducciones de las partituras que circularon por todo el país desde 1922 hasta 1950.

En los actos en reconocimiento a la figura de este impresor y músico, está prevista una exposición en la que se mostrará la caja de tipos musicales y partituras editadas en ‘Talleres Gráficos Astorga’, una mesa redonda en la cual personalidades del mundo de la cultura y la música hablarán sobre ‘La imprenta musical de Ángel Julián’, y para finalizar el homenaje, la Banda Municipal de Astorga ofrecerá un concierto en el Jardín de la Sinagoga con obras del propio Ángel Julián y de obras impresas en su taller.
